The Beginning

Ah, my very first post! I'll start off with some basics, I'm Katy Sue Harrison or Kathryn Suzanne if you want to be official!! I am 18 years old and I currently reside in the greater Custer area of Whatcom County. I graduated from Ferndale High School in June of 2011, where I was involved in multiple activities such as cheerleading, choir, ASB, Leadership and French classes. Hence the name of my blog :) I live with my mom, step-dad, brother, grandma and most recently added my best-friend Ronnie. I have been with my boyfriend Kurt for 3 1/2 years now, I have a blue heeler puppy named Sprocket (he's a handful) I am currently in the process of participating in the Miss Whatcom County Scholarship Pageant, people hear pageant and assume it's just all about being the prettiest.. Well let me clear the air for most people who truly have no idea what it's all about the 'competition' can be however long before the day of the pageant the coordinator wants and in Whatcom County we begin the process in November with interviews then 2 preliminary meetings of what being in the pageant is about, after that we have a break till January...then the work begins! We have meetings every Monday then starting in February we start having rehearsals on Sunday's and Monday's. There are multiple sections of the pageant; talent, interview, evening gowns, on-stage questions and....duh DUH DUUUUHHHHHH SWIMSUIT!!!!

Yeah pretty nerve racking huh? Well in my preparation for this pageant I have started a 7-day cleanse and 6 day a week work-out regime in the quest to have my perfect shape back! By perfect I mean no extra pudge hanging over my curves! I'm proud to have an hour-glass shape and I by no means want to loose my figure I just want to feel in shape again! So today I began my journey!

And on Wednesday I start my winter quarter at Bellingham Technical College in my pursue of a degree in Culinary Arts :) yup I'm a cook I love everything about cooking the process of thinking what to make, getting everything ready to cook, taking the time to cook everything just right and then but of course getting to eat it!! Just not TOO much to eat! Sometimes I think about my other career choice of being a Labor and Delivery Nurse and it's so appealing and way more money in the long run, so I'm still not set exactly on what I'll do but for now I'm taking my pre-requisites for any program.

Well until next time!
